Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Early Acceptance Program

An accelerated pathway to medical, dental, or pharmacy school

The LECOM Early Acceptance Program is an affiliation agreement between College and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). The program allows qualified students to apply for early acceptance to LECOM’s College of Medicine, School of Dentistry, or School of Pharmacy.

When do I apply to LECOM?

You can apply to the early acceptance program before matriculating at or within your first three years of undergraduate study at . Successful applicants will be offered provisional acceptance to their chosen professional program. Upon successfully completing the required prerequisite coursework, students start at LECOM the summer after their graduation.

Why should I consider the LECOM Early Acceptance Program?

  • The application/admissions process is simplified by applying to only one school.
  • You can skip the MCAT for medical school. If you meet the qualifying standardized test criteria (minimum 26 ACT or 1240 SAT on a single exam), then you do not need to take the MCAT to apply for LECOM’s College of Medicine.

How soon can I start the program after graduating from ?

Students can begin their professional program immediately after graduating from . No glide year or transitional period is required.

Will I have help applying to the program?

Yes, there is dedicated advising for the program. You will work closely with ’s Prehealth Advising Office throughout the application process.

What are the general eligibility requirements?

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Earn a minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA at
  • Earn a minimum 3.3 science GPA at
  • Major in a science discipline
  • Complete all required preprofessional prerequisite courses with a grade of “C” or higher
