Study Abroad Cancellations & Refunds
Withdrawal by a student
Students who withdraw from a program for any reason after published withdrawal deadlines
or during the program are not eligible for a refund of any fees paid or incurred,
including deposits, tuition, travel costs, program fees, or other related expenses
before departure or during participation. Students should be aware that withdrawal
may also affect financial aid eligibility and could require the return of aid to federal
or state programs. Students are strongly encouraged to consult the Office of Financial
Aid promptly if they are considering withdrawal.
Refunds
Students who withdraw from a study abroad program after the deposit deadline are not eligible for refunds of any fees paid or incurred to ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷, including deposits, tuition, travel costs, program fees, or other related expenses.
If a program is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances or events beyond ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷’s
control, either before departure or during the program, refunds cannot be guaranteed.
In many cases, program fees are paid in advance to international vendors and may not
be recoverable. The College will make a good-faith effort to recover applicable funds
and return any portion that is successfully recovered and attributable to student
participation. However, ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷ cannot guarantee recovery of funds or assume liability
for costs that cannot be recovered.
Cancellation of program by the college
If a program is interrupted or cancelled by the College due to circumstances including, but not limited to, natural disasters, war, public health risks, civil unrest, terrorism, or other events beyond the College’s control, ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷ will make a good-faith effort, where feasible, to support students in completing academic work. This may include placement in an alternative program or other academically appropriate arrangements.
Where appropriate, the College will also make a good-faith effort to recover program fees from vendors and return any recoverable portion attributable to student participation. Recovery of funds cannot be guaranteed, and refunds depend on circumstances outside the College’s control.
