¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷

Just seven years after it was founded in 1885, ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷(then known as the Women’s College of Baltimore) became the first women’s college in the nation to open a department of physiology and hygiene. Though the institution has since undergone many changes (changing its name to ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷in 1910, for example, and becoming coeducational in 1986), it has maintained its pathbreaking approach to the sciences throughout its history.

¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷'s science and technology resources are first-rate, featuring a scientific visualization laboratory, a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, and well-equipped laboratories and computer and multimedia centers. The members of ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷'s science faculty are active on the cutting edge of their fields, conducting research projects funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and others.

Ivory-tower intellectuals by no stretch of the imagination, ¶¶êŽÉñÆ÷’s faculty bring their own experience directly into the classroom to provide students with a dynamic, comprehensive education in both scientific fundamentals and advances.
